Top 5 Nexus 5 Accessories

Anthony Muzonzini

Anthony Muzonzini

Currently living out in the East Coast. When not on the AndroidPIT grind you can usually find me turning up or play footie.

The Nexus 5 is definitely one of the best phones you can get your hands on right now. It comes at an incredible price point and is still competitive when compared to the top devices from this year like the HTC One M8 and the Samsung Galaxy S5. It is a great phone no doubt, but in this article we are going to look at how to make this phone which is already a beast, more effective and even better using accessories.

You can pick up a wireless charger for your device which means you do not have to worry about dealing with wires and stuff like that. One device that you can use for doing this is the Nexus wireless chager and you can pick it up for about $50. It includes magnets so your phone will remain in the optimal charging position. The charger is easy to set up and use and has a firm grip on almost any surface. The device is also compatible with other Nexus devices so if you have the Nexus 7 tablet it will work with that as well.

This casing looks cool, isn’t expensive and comes in a bunch of different colors so what more could you want? They are also made from shock absorbent and scratch resistant TPU and really do not add any more significant weight to the actual device. A raised bezel on the front protects the phone really well from anything like falls and the cutouts on the casing allow easy access to all the ports. You can get this on Amazon for about $13

This charger boasts a capacity of 14,000 mAh and can charge your Nexus phone several times before running out. This is especially useful when going on camping trips or festivals that last for days because you can easily charge your phone up when you’re at the event. This is especially useful with summer coming up. Dual USB ports allow you to charge two devices at once so if you’ve got another Nexus device with you, you can charge both at the same time. Included with the device are connectors that should make this compatible with a bunch of different devices. You can find this on Amazon for less than $50.

You can now use your Nexus 5 while driving to do various things. This car mount can really enhance your experience when it comes to driving. You can accept and end calls as there is a speaker and microphone system, so you can make or end calls. It also allows you to use your camera to record yourself in the car without any obstruction and because it comes with a charger, you can be sure you do not run out of battery doing any activities in your car. It is also adjustable so you can position the device in the most comfortable position for you.

Smart Watches are in and you can get one to pair with your Nexus 5. One good device to get is the pebble smartwatch and there are quite a few reasons for this. It allows you to pair your device to your smartwatch so that you can phone notifications straight to your watch. You can also download different apps and faces for the actual watch so you can modify it according to your tastes. The E-Paper display makes sure that you can see the watch even in the bright sunlight and also adds to the fact that the watch has an extremely long battery life. It also has functions for fitness, music controls and is also water resistant. This device is a bit more pricey but it really is a cool accessory

What do you make of these accessories and which ones would you add? Please leave us a comment below and we will get back to you.

Instead of cords, the wires are hidden in two sides of a zipper, and are zipped up and stored neatly, with less risk of wire damage. Even Ellen DeGeneres likes them! The Best Actually Useful Phone Accessories

The Best Actually Useful Phone AccessoriesS

It seems like pretty much everyone makes a smartphone accessory of some kind. Most of them are terrible and don't work. But some of them are actually awesome. Let's cut through the junk and make a list of the best.

For whatever reason, ridiculous smartphone accessories have become nothing more than throwaway, check out lane junk that nobody really wants (most of which you can make yourself anyway). Yet, every once in a while something comes along that's actually pretty awesome. Instead of wading through the thousands of results on Amazon for smartphone accessories, let's cut to the chase and make our own list of the accesories actually worth your cash.

We'll get the list started with some of our favorites, but we're more interested in yours. Here's how to share your favorite accessory:

  1. Enter one accessory per comment: This keeps the list simple to read so people can look through it quickly. Don't forget to include the price.
  2. Include a product shot or video: You can grab a picture from the product site, don't feel obligated to take your own.
  3. Try not to repeat accessories: If someone already suggested your pick, click the star to highlight it and then add your own experience to their thread if you'd like.
  4. Tell us why it's useful: Tell us how this accessory is useful and how you use it.

With that, let's get started!

Top accessories for the Samsung Galaxy S4

Sterling Keys

Sterling Keys

After finishing his Bachelor of Commerce degree at the University of Alberta, Sterling made the move to Vancouver Island in British Columbia. Within a stone's throw of mountains, ocean, and complete wilderness, he mountain bikes and skis during the day and is hopelessly connected to his phone and computer at all other times. His writing "career" started as he penned about his escapades while skiing and has slowly progressed to freelance marketing and promotion throughout British Columbia. Interested in anything tech and gadget related, he has thoroughly enjoyed his transition of writing for AndroidPIT.

If you grabbed a Samsung Galaxy S4 just before the announcement of the Galaxy S5, you should at least take solace in the fact that it’s not absolutely necessary for you to switch over just yet. The barely year old smartphone still packs a punch and can be revitalized through the addition of a simple accessory. Today, we showcase a few of the best accessories on the market that you can still grab for your Samsung Galaxy S4.

Car Holder

Every Android smartphone on the market in the past two years can replace a full-fledged GPS navigation device. The Samsung Galaxy S4 is particularly well suited for this purpose since it has a relatively large and bright display and good GPS reception, all you need now is a car holder to hold onto to it so that is within easy view and not a distraction. There are a ton of really good models, but we recommend the ECS-K200 from Samsung for this purpose. The holder itself will clip into all devices that are 4-5 inches and comes with a car charger.

Car Kit

If you spend a lot of time in your car, then your smartphone most likely does as well. While some vehicles come equipped with Bluetooth ready compatibility that help integrate the features right into your speaker system, this might not be the case for everyone. As such, you can easily pick up a device such as the Parrot Minikit, which bridges the functions no matter what type of vehicle you’re driving. The simple design fits in most any car sunscreens and comes complete with good voice recognition and on board Text-to-Speech functions. Navigation instructions, choosing music, taking calls can be issued directly through the MiniKit.

S View Cover

Most flip cases are great for smartphones in the sense that they protect the touch screen and keep it free from dust and smudges. One drawback, however, is that even if you want to just check the time, you need to flip them open. The S View Flip Cover provides a transparent viewing window at the top of the cover which allows for important information to still be displayed: date, time, phone number of current caller, missed call information, new messages, and battery information. As well, if you’re listening to music while the cover is closed, it will display your currently playing track information. Prices vary according to color, but most of them can be grabbed online via retailers such as Amazon.

Sport Armband

The classic armband is also available for the Galaxy S4 and isn’t only for those who are all about running with their device. This type of case is great for anyone who wants to be active while still having their device close at hand just in case. With the SlimFit Belkin case, the Galaxy S4 is securely fixed to your upper arm and comes with a breathable material that prevents skin irritation. Personally, I use one of these Belkin armbands for whenever I’m out and about hiking or biking and they’re great to have when you need to move around a lot and don’t want to worry about your smartphone dropping out everywhere.
