This is why we have this new root tutorial for the XXUGND2 Android 4.3 firmware update released for the Samsung Galaxy S3. Samsung devices tend to be the ones with most simple rooting methods due to number of reasons. While reading this guide, you should know that rooting your device voids the warranty. What is so special about rooting? Read: Benefits of rooting an Android device. You can now root Galaxy S3 I9300 with XXUGND2 Android 4.3 firmware using ODIN with our tutorial given below.

As you continue reading below, we will guide you through the entire process of how to root XXUGND2 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean on Galaxy S3 I9300 with complete steps. Apart from this, we have some data backup tips for your phone and other important tips below. Read our list of the essential root apps available! The following tips are important as they will help the rooting procedure to go smooth without any issues. Let’s get on with the tutorial now.

Root XXUGND2

Disclaimer: All the custom ROMs and firmwares, official software updates, tools, mods or anything mentioned in the tutorial belong to their respective owners/developers. We (TeamAndroid.com) or the developers are not to be held responsible if you damage or brick your device. We don’t have you on gun point to try out this tutorial ;-)

Root XXUGND2 Android 4.3 – CF-Root Method Details:

For those who do not know about CF-Auto-Root:
CF-Root is the root for “rooting beginners” and those who want to keep as close to stock as possible. CF-Root is meant to be used in combination with stock Samsung firmwares, and be the quickest and easiest way for your first root. A modified recovery and cache partition will be flashed, which will install (only) SuperSU, then clean-up the cache partition and re-flash the stock recovery.

NOTE: Using this root increases your flash counter. You should run Triangle Away after rooting to reset the counter. Note that if you want to run custom kernels or custom recoveries, your flash counter will be set to 1 at every boot. Either configure Triangle Away to reset the counter at every boot (Play version only) or only reset the counter when you need to go into warranty.

NOTE: Your Samsung Galaxy S III I9300 should be on the Android 4.3 build XXUGND2 firmware in order to apply this root method. Please make sure your phone is on the said firmware from Settings > About phone.

You can later update Galaxy S3 I9300 to the latest ClockworkMod Recovery: How to Install ClockworkMod Touch Recovery 6.0.1.2 on Galaxy S3 I9300.

Samsung Galaxy S3 USB Drivers

You will need to connect your Android phone with the computer. For that, please make sure you have installed the USB drivers for Samsung Galaxy S3 properly. If not, you can download the latest official drivers from our Android USB Drivers section here:

Download Samsung Galaxy S3 USB drivers!

Backup and Other Important Tips

Done with the USB drivers? Perfect. The tutorial is on the next page, but first, please take a look at the following tips and important points you need to take care of. These are important, as we don’t want anyone losing their personal data or apps:
Always backup your important data that you might need after you install a new custom ROM, an official software update or anything else. Make a backup for just in case, you never know when anything might go wrong. See below for some tips on how to backup data:

Samsung users can also back up data using Samsung KIES. If you backup data manually, you get more options what to choose from and it is very easy to move data across Android devices from different manufacturers, i.e moving Samsung Galaxy Note backup data to HTC One X.

If you already have a custom recovery (ClockworkMod, TWRP etc.) installed on your phone, we strongly recommend a backup using that as it creates a complete image of your existing phone set up.

A few more optional tips that you should remember:
1. Having problems connecting your Android phone to the computer? You need to enable USB debugging mode. See here: How to Enable USB Debugging — for Gingerbread, Ice Cream Sandwich and Jelly Bean.

2. Make sure your Android device is charged up to 80-85% battery level. This might help you: How to Check Battery Percentage. Why? Because, if your phone goes off suddenly while installing a custom ROM, flashing an official firmware update or installing mods etc. — your phone might get bricked or go dead permanently. No one wants that, right?

4. Most of the tutorials and how-to guides on Team Android are for factory unlocked Android phones and tablets. We recommend NOT to try our guides if your phone is locked to a carrier, unless we have specified the carrier name or device model.

If you find the above tips useful and they were helpful to you, please consider giving us a +1 or LIKE to thank us!
All set and ready? Good. You can now head over to the following web page and root Galaxy S3 I9300 on XXUGND2 Android 4.3 official firmware update.

Amazon is one of those companies that have successfully forked Android into their own ecosystem, particularly with the Kindle Fire line. Intended to be an e-reader and a tablet for consuming digital content, the Kindle Fire ran well with Amazon’s wide offering of e-books, movies and TV shows, as well as apps in the Amazon Appstore. While the Kindle Fire line’s market share is on the decline, Amazon enjoys a healthy revenue stream from the tablet from the sale of digital content.

But underneath it all, the tablet is a fairly capable Android device, and many an enthusiast actually bought the inexpensive Kindle Fire line in order to root and install custom ROMs. Most of these efforts were unsupported ROMs however, most of which were community supported. This is about to change, with the official CyanogenMod 11 support for the 2012 Amazon Kindle Fire HD 7″ and Kindle Fire HD 8.9″ introducing KitKat to the device.

Nightly builds are already available on official CM download channels, codenamed “tate” for the 7″ variant and “jem” for the 8.9″ device. These will require a rooted device with a custom recovery, which should not be difficult if you are into hacking and tweaking your Android device. Note that there is still no official CM support for the latest Kindle Fire HDX line.

Fire OS, the Android fork that comes with the Kindle Fire line is designed with simplicity in mind, and as such, it is considered to be very limited, especially by Android enthusiasts. Official CM11 support for the device should be a welcome development especially for users who are into breathing new life into older devices or repurposing these through custom ROMs.

Do you have a Kindle Fire HD? Are you looking into repurposing or reviving it with a custom ROM?

Good. You can now head over to the next page and update Galaxy Grand 2 Duos G7102 to Android 4.3 XXUAND1 official firmware update.

Many of us opt for third-party camera apps because they are more solidly built than what the stock apps have to offer. But now, Android users may want to reconsider trying out the new and improved Google camera app, just released in the Play Store. If you cannot download the app via Play Store, download the APK file directly here.

Lens Blur slider for Google Camera app

It’s better, sleekier and has a few pretty cool feaures you would want to try out, like Lens Blur and Photo Sphere. And better yet the official Google Camera app is no longer confined to Nexus and GPE (Google Play Experience) devices only. You can run it on any Android device running KitKat 4.4 and above.

New & Upgraded Features

The previous stock Camera was found wanting both in design and functionality, so this new Camera app is definitely a long-awaited improvement. Most of the app functions as a typical in-built camera app but what distinguishes this new revamped app from the previous version is the updated Photo Sphere and the new Lens Blur function. Let’s check out what this app has to offer.

Lens Blur

Lens Blur is finally here, a feature that allows your device camera to focus on a target while having the background blurred out. This is a common feature found on Single-Lens Reflex (SLR/DLSR) cameras, and it’s now available via this app.

In Lens Blur mode, you just have to shoot the subject, then slowly raise the device while keeping the subject in the center of the frame. The app will help guide you through the process with on-screen instructions.

Lens Blur tutorial

You can adjust the blur level after you have captured the shot. The blur level will only focus on blurring the blackground, not the subject. That will happen as long as the camera can tell the difference between your subject and the background.

Blur slider

Photo Sphere

This one is an app that will give the panorama mode a run for its money. It’s far from a new feature but you’ll definitely love playing around with it once you get the hang of it.

The moment you fire up Photo Sphere, you will notice 4 dots on the four sides, left, ride, up and down, after you make a snapshot. These dots are there to help you focus your device camera to create the perfect Photo Sphere. Shift your camera to align with the dots and the app will help you stitch the images together. How far can you go with this? A full 360 degrees!

Photo Sphere interface

There’s more, the new Photo Sphere can now capture up to 50 megapixels, providing more details in your photo sphere picture. Here is an example.

Other Features

There are a few other minor tweaks to some of the other features, namely:

Improved Panaroma – The newly improved Panaroma mode, allows you to capture the full width of a scene in higher detail.

Google Says No To Vertical Video – Don’t you hate it when you take a video that ends up in the wrong orientation? Unlike photos, videos can’t be rotated just as easily. This Camera app will remind you to rotate the device when you try to capture a video in vertical mode. You can ignore the warning and still record your videos this way, but do reconsider by watching this video first.

Camera app interface

Better Interface – Did the previous Camera app frustrate you with its interface? Fret no more. Features are now labeled properly, taking out most of the guesswork. Instead of the old sliding arc controls, the Camera features are now presented nicely in a menu by swiping to the right and by tapping on the menu button at the bottom right.

Conclusion

Like any other app, there are still a few drawbacks to this app. For instance, when taking a photo in Lens Blur mode, your photo will be automatically reduced to around 1024×768 resolution – the image quality will take a hit.

But if you need more motivation to try this app out, know that the Android Police have torn down the APK and found out that in the near future, Google will update the app to include Photo Sphere Live Wallpaper, Advanced Camera, Time Lapse, Wide Angle Mode, and much more.

White House Declines To Deport Bieber, Pivots To Immigration Reform In Its Official Response

TechCrunch squinted slightly when the White House petition to deport the Canadian Justin Bieber passed the 100,000-signature mark, the minimum threshold to warrant an official response. (At that time, TechCrunch offered to help build a catapult to assist in completing the expulsion.)

The White House today responded to the petition with a dodge:

Thanks for your petition and your participation in We the People.

Sorry to disappoint, but we won’t be commenting on this one.

Hardly a surprise. (The White House did link to this Time piece that details why sending Biebs home would not be a simple task, legally.) But given that no moment can be wasted in politics, the White House quickly pivoted in its response to a discussion of immigration reform.

On a different note, the “Pardon Edward Snowden” petition, which collected more than 150,000 signatures during its open period, still lacks an official response. Surprise.

Immigration reform, comprehensive or otherwise, is showing signs of life again in Congress. Speaker of the House John Boehner claims to be “hellbent” on getting something passed, but House Majority Leader Eric Cantor and the president can’t agree about what they spoke about on the phone. The Senate plan, passed previously, is dead in the House as it won’t be brought up for a vote. And it isn’t clear if the Senate has any appetite to take up House-passed — provided the House can pass something at all — legislation that would tackle immigration by parts, and not all at once.

A small potential glimmer for the techies: If the House does manage to pass smaller, bite-sized immigration fixes, high-skill immigration reform could find itself decoupled from larger immigration reform. That would raise its chances, albeit in a minor way — from oh-so-slim to not-quite-as-oh-so-slim — of passing this year.

Now, let’s proceed with the tutorial on the next page and update Galaxy Ace Duos S6802 to XXMJ1 Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread official firmware.
