In honor of spring, Google is now holding a limited time app sale, offering 19 reasonably high-profile games for as little as $.99. Here’s the full list of games available in the sale:
As you can see, there’s some really popular titles here, including several newer games like the Room 2. No word on exactly how long this sale will last, so we’d probably take advantage of the promotion right away.
It’s also important to note that the offer’s sale page doesn’t seem to be up for all regions just yet, though it is confirmed to be working at least in the United States and select parts of Europe. According to commenters on Reddit, if the page doesn’t come up for you, it doesn’t hurt to try visiting the apps directly instead of heading to the sale page.

Kovdev’s Domo Icon Pack arrives to Google Play, 1650+ icons and 20 HD wallpapers

When it comes to customizing your Android device, there’s also sorts of third-party launchers and custom wallpapers out there that can help transform your device into something that truly stands out from the crowd. For those looking to take things a step further, many 3rd party launchers also support the use of custom icon packs.

A quick look at Google Play will turn up a massive number of icon packs, though some of the most popular come from developer Dave Kover — better known as KovDev. Today Kovdev is introducing its latest icon pack and follow-up to the successful Lumos pack. Dubbed Domo, the new icon pack consists of over 1650+ icons alongside 20 HD wallpapers and Muzei live wallpaper support. 

Now it’s important to note that you’ll need a compatible third-party launcher in order for this to work, though most well known options like Nova and Apex should play nicely. Domo is available now on Google Play for the price of $1.99.

Sony Lifelog app hits Google Play, Smartband wearable available for $140

We first learned about Sony’s Lifelog app back at CES earlier this year, when it debuted alongside the Sony SmartBand wearable fitness tracker. A month later, Sony revealed that it would be pushing out both the wearable and the Lifelog app sometime in March to over 60 countries.

While Sony didn’t meet its original March goal, we’re happy to report that both Sony’s wearable and the accompanying app have arrived! At the moment, NewEgg appears to be the only U.S. retailer that carries the SmartBand, priced at $140. Turning to the software side, the Lifelog app can be downloaded right now from Google Play, though at the moment it only supports the Sony Xperia Z2. The good news is that Sony plans to extend support to all Xperia devices running Android 4.4.2 KitKat in the near future.

So what exactly does the Lifelog app and the Smartband do? The Lifelog app (in conjunction with the Smartband) is designed to keep track of your movement and physical activity while also tracking other things “important to your life” such as the books you read, the music and movies you listen and watch, and even the games you play. The Smartband also has sleep tracking, the ability to inform you of incoming calls and much more.

Not sure what music to listen to, just ask Google Now on Android to “play some music”

Google is well known for its shenanigans and easter eggs when it comes to search, just try a Google search for “askew” to see them in action. So when Google Now on Android gets a cool new voice activated feature, I wonder if it is an easter egg or a full blown feature. This time around, try following up “Okay, Google” with “play some music” and you’ll get an “I’m feeling lucky” radio station fired up in the Google Play Music app.

The “I’m feeling lucky” radio station pertains to All Access users, but don’t worry if you do not subscribe to All Access, it will instead fire up an “I’m feeling lucky” instant mix out of your music. Assuming you’ve taken the time to upload your tunes to Google’s Play Music cloud storage, and have the latest Google Play Music app installed, of course.

To take advantage of this cool feature, in addition to the Play Music app, you’ll need to be running Android 4.1 or higher and have the latest Google Search app installed. If you do not know what I’m talking about, simply swipe up from the Home button on your device, if the Google Now search tool pops up, you are on the right track.

Google is promoting this functionality as an easy way to find and experience new music. All Access subscribers benefit the most as they get to experience new music from Google’s entire library. But it also works great for non-subscribers that have uploaded a large personal library. With the 20,000 song limit, many have more music in their library than can typically recall. “I’m feeling lucky” helps you re-experience your own library, often throwing in an artist or song that you have not heard in a while.
