Today we’ll talk about five apps that we consider essential for the Galaxy S3.
ES File Explorer File Manager
When you have a good smartphone, you need a good file explorer. ES File Explorer is compatible with rooted phones and allows you to search for PDF or audio files of various formats. The app displays files in list or tile form of varying sizes. With a Galaxy S3, which also has a replaceable microSD slot, a good file explorer is without a doubt an essential companion to your user experience.
Titanium Backup / Helium
© ClockworkMod / Play StoreWhen you have a smartphone, performing a data backup can’t be recommend enough. Whether you have a rooted S3 or not, it’s better to be safe rather than sorry. If in the future you decide to flash a ROM and it doesn’t go as well as planned, you’ll be relieved to know that all of your user and application data is easily retrievable. We suggest using Titanium for rooted phones, and for all non-rooted devices, Helium is a perfect fit.
QuickPic - Photo Gallery
The TouchWiz gallery isn’t bad, but often leads to some problems and is quite bulky. If you want to be able to navigate throughout your pictures more quickly, QuickPic will offer you a better user experience.
You get a nice overview of all your pictures with the QuickPic gallery app. / © QuickPicThe sorting options and mini icons displayed on one single background makes this one of the most comfortable and intuitive gallery apps on Android.
Webcam on the Multi-window mode
The idea behind having a webcam app (where the video output is displayed on your phone via the IP address of the cam) is to be able to make use of the multi-window function of your Galaxy S3. In fact, you can keep a window of your browser or app open on your display to keep an eye out on your surveillance webcam. Of course, this is just one of the many ways to use the multi-window function: you can keep open a calculator, sports event results, YouTube and the list goes on.
Camera ZOOM FX
Camera Zoom FX is a very simple, yet effective app. One of its advantages is that you can get rid of the terrible shutter sound every time you take a picture with the S3. On top of numerous effects, the app also has many editing options. You might not get all of the functions of the Samsung native camera app, but as a complement to this, Camera Zoom FX is a welcome addition for every amateur photographer.
