Michelle Obama's Greatest Style Remorse Revealed

We all look again and grimace at our earlier vogue decisions-scrunchies, frosted lipstick, and velour tracksuits. And this week during the taping of BET's 106 & Park, the First Girl revealed what her biggest fashion faux pas was: shorts.

She was referring to a specific instance: During an Obama family trip to Arizona in 2009, she was photographed exiting Air Force One wearing a white top, open button-up shirt, sneakers, and pair of gray shorts. This led the public to criticize and questions if the FLOTUS is "allowed" to bare her legs (which are quite toned and enviable, for the record).

Mobama said she regretted it because it caused "a huge stink" and "because people were like, 'she's wearing shorts getting off of Air Force One.'…Sometimes I forget I'm the first lady and I'm running around in shorts." Her mindset at the time? "We're on vacation," she explained. When in Rome, or shall we say, in the dry heat of Arizona.
